A Softer Way to Tell the Truth
Notes on returning to yourself, and somewhere to take what you recognize.

There are truths we know immediately. The room is cold. We are hungry. Someone has hurt us. We want to leave.
And then there are truths that arrive more quietly. They come after we have already answered. After we have said, "It's fine." After we have explained why we understand.
This book is about the second kind.
It is a short collection of reflections on the ways we leave ourselves: answering before checking, becoming easy because easy is safe, mistaking being wanted for being valued, apologizing for our own hurt until we end up comforting the person who caused it.
None of it is dramatic. That is the point. Leaving yourself happens sentence by sentence, in small agreements, and it happens so gradually that the version of you doing the agreeing starts to feel like the real one.
The book is in three parts. The Ways I Left Myself looks at the leaving. What I Mistook for Love looks at the relationships where the leaving got rewarded. Returning looks at what coming back actually looks like, which is smaller and less cinematic than you would expect.
It does not ask you to change anything. It is not a system, a framework, or a program. It is an attempt to describe something accurately enough that you recognize it.
The last thing I wanted was for it to end on the final page.
So this comes with a companion. A thinking partner that knows the book, speaks its language, and will stay with you in the place a book cannot reach: your own specific version of this.
You tell it what happened. Not the conclusion you already reached. What actually happened. It will ask what you felt, what you decided it meant, and whether those are the same thing. It does not give advice, does not diagnose, and does not tell you what to do. It asks better questions than most of us ask ourselves.
You can start with a chapter that landed hard. You can start with something that happened today and stayed with you longer than it should have. You can start with a sentence you have said a hundred times without hearing it.
The book is the thinking. The companion is where the thinking becomes about you.

What this is
This is Richard Bowie's process, turned into an AI.
Richard Bowie does this a certain way. ChatGPT doesn't know that way. And you can't teach it, because if you knew Richard Bowie's method, you wouldn't need this. That method is what you're buying. It's built into this AI, with the examples and rules behind it. You open a chat, give it what you're working on, and it does the job like Richard Bowie would. No prompting. No setup. When Richard Bowie gets better at it, so does this.

Questions
What do I actually get?
An AI that does the job the way Richard Bowie does it. Give it what you're working on and it works from Richard Bowie's method, examples, and rules. No prompting and no setup.
Do I need to be good with AI?
No. There is nothing to set up and nothing to "prompt." Open it and type the way you'd text Richard Bowie. Ask what you'd ask them.
Isn't this just ChatGPT?
No. ChatGPT guesses from the whole internet. This only knows Richard Bowie's method, examples, and rules, so the answers sound like Richard Bowie and stay inside the method. Ask both the same question and compare.
Is there a limit on how much I can use it?
Your Eden account comes with 50 free credits, and each message uses one. If you use them up, you can add more inside Eden.
What happens after I buy?
It opens in your free Eden account right away, on web and phone. You keep it. When Richard Bowie updates the method, your copy updates too.
